PROGRAMS

The general objective of the?School of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IE-EMG)?is to prepare students for a career in the field of Industrial Engineering and Service Engineering and Management. Graduates of the curriculum must have specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical, social, and basic engineering sciences together with the professional courses in IE, EMG and SEM.

A graduate of the?Bachelor of Science in?Industrial Engineering (BS IE)?program:

  • Must be able to perform services in the form of consultation, design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, implementation, and supervision of: work standards, process control, systems improvement, production and facilities plan, production and materials control, systems, operations research models, and information systems
  • Is expected to be environmentally conscious
  • Must be knowledgeable of professional responsibilities to ethics and laws
  • Must be a total engineer utilizing knowledge in arts, sciences, and engineering
  • Must be prepared for the conduct of research in at least one area in the field of IE

A graduate of the?Bachelor of Science in?Service Engineering and Management (BS SEM)?program:

  • Must have the fundamental and advanced knowledge, tools, and methods in decision-making, policies formulation, organizational development, and problem-solving associated with information intensive and technology-based industries and economies
  • Is adept with both technical engineering education and a core set of business and management mindset
  • Must be able to perform services in the form of consultation, design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, implementation, and supervision in the areas of: business process outsourcing, facilities and property management, and supply, logistics, and transportation management.
  • Must be prepared to create, build, improve, and install industrial systems which are different, effective, and robust
  • Is expected to be environmentally conscious
  • Must be knowledgeable of professional responsibilities to ethics and laws
  • Must be a total engineer utilizing knowledge in arts, sciences, and engineering
  • Must be prepared for the conduct of research or capstone project in at least one area in the field of SEM

Program Educational Objectives:

Within three to five years after graduation, the graduates of Industrial Engineering program shall have:

  1. Undertaken, singly or in teams, projects that show ability to solve complex engineering problems in the areas of productivity, quality control, methods and process improvement, systems analysis, logistics and supply chain, ergonomics, facilities planning, strategic management, and other related industrial engineering fields
  2. Had substantial involvement in projects that help in nation building and advancement by successfully demonstrating professional and technical competencies
  3. Demonstrated professional success via promotions and/or positions of increasing responsibility
  4. Demonstrated professional advancement towards completion of developmental/continuing education in advanced IE and related degrees
  5. Exhibited professional attitude and ethical behavior in engineering practice
